Lisa Bobet

Lisa is a novelist, poet, editor, and active community organiser (urban agriculture and food sovereignty) based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her novel-length work has won Canada’s Prix Aurora Award, Sunburst Award, Copper Cylinder Award, and been noted on the Canadian Library Association and Ontario Library Association’s best of the year lists; it’s also been nominated for SFWA’s Andre Norton Award and the SFPA’s Rhysling. As poetry editor alongside fiction editor Cecile Cristofari, our 2021 issue of Reckoning: creative writing on environmental justice’s focused on climate work rooted in joy and won the Utopia Award. Lisa has also been a contest reader for Grist’s 2022 Imagine 2200 climate fiction contest, hosted festival stages, and taught workshops for young adult and adult writers from Canada and the US to New Zealand and Ireland.
